At this developmental stage, kids possess their greatest ability to absorb and retain a second language qualitatively similar to their native language. Phonological acquisition is time-sensitive, unlike grammar and vocabulary learning, which can happen at any age. Hence, the emphasis here is on speaking using the Listen. Absorb. Speak.™ method.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This year, we will only offer in person or online, private or group classes (max. 5 students).
SCHEDULE
- Explorers I (6-18 months) – 25 minutes – Tuesdays at 5 p.m.
- Explorers II (18-36 months) – 35 minutes – Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m.
- Explorers III (3-5 yrs) – 45 minutes – Wednesdays at 5 p.m.
There are four sessions per year:
- Fall session runs Sep. 18-Dec. 10, 2023 (please note: there is no class Oct. 4-8 and 30-31, Nov. 20-26)
- Winter session runs Jan. 8-Mar. 17, 2024
- Spring session runs Apr. 1-Jun. 9, 2024 (please note: there is no class May 7-12 and 27)
- Summer session TBD

My kids (ages 3 and 1) have been part of Aux Petits Soins for the past year and what an adventure! It’s been wonderful to see them enjoy playing and singing (and of course learning) in a language immersion program with other children. I am very thankful that Gaelle and her family bring the beautiful gift of French language and culture to the Lansing community.
